ASTM A36 American Standard Carbon Steel

American standard carbon structural steel ASTM A36 conforms to the standards of the American Society for Testing and Materials, and is produced according to ASME standards. It is an ordinary carbon steel pipe, equivalent to China’s Q235 material, and belongs to the American standard ordinary carbon steel plate.

ASTM A36 is suitable for riveting, bolting and welding structures used in bridges and buildings, and is often used in machinery manufacturing. ASTM A36 has good cutting and welding performance. In terms of cutting processing, it has stable performance, small cutting deformation and is easy to weld. It is widely used in manufacturing industries such as heavy equipment spare parts manufacturing, metallurgy and chemical industry, and flanges.

Chemical elements and composition of ASTM A36:

1. Elements: C (carbon), Si (silicon), Mn (manganese), P (phosphorus), S (sulfur), Cu (copper)
2. Composition: C: ≤0.25, Si≤0.40, Mn: ≤0.80-1.20, P≤0.04, S: ≤0.05, Cu≥0.20. (in the case of copper-containing steel)

The delivery status of the steel plate is hot-rolled, and it can be delivered according to technical requirements such as normalizing, tempering, and controlled rolling; flaw detection can be done as 1 probe, 2 probe, and 3 probe; Thickness extension can do z15, z25, z35.
