ABOUT TYTSTEEL

What is galvanized steel pipe?

Galvanized steel pipe is a kind of steel pipe that is anti-corrosion and corrosion resistant by coating the surface of the steel pipe with a layer of zinc. Galvanized steel pipe can be divided into two types: pre-galvanized steel pipe and hot-dip galvanized steel pipe, of which pre-galvanized steel pipe is galvanized on the surface of the steel pipe during the production process and then made into steel pipe; while hot-dip galvanized steel pipe is ordinary steel pipe after pickling and washing and dipping into the molten zinc liquid to coat the surface of the steel pipe with a layer of zinc and make the zinc layer closely bonded with the surface of the steel pipe through water cooling and air cooling.

What are the applications of galvanized steel pipes?

Galvanized steel pipes are widely used in construction, machinery, petrochemical industry and other fields. They are commonly used for transporting liquids, gases and other media, as well as making scaffolding, pipes, doors, windows, guardrails and other construction materials.

Introduction of hot-dip galvanized steel pipe

Hot-dip galvanized steel pipe is a process in which ordinary steel pipe is pickled and washed and then dipped into molten zinc liquid to coat the surface of the steel pipe with a layer of zinc and make the zinc layer closely bonded to the surface of the steel pipe by water cooling or air cooling. Hot-dip galvanized steel pipe has better anti-corrosion and corrosion resistance properties, and also has higher strength and hardness. Hot-dip galvanized steel pipes are usually used in hydraulic supports, machinery manufacturing, construction, and other fields.

Pre-galvanized steel pipe introduction

Pre-galvanized steel pipe is a process of galvanizing the surface of steel pipe first during the production process and then making it into steel pipe. Pre-galvanized steel pipe not only has the performance of anti-corrosion and corrosion resistance but also has a smooth appearance and bright surface, which can improve the beauty and service life of galvanized steel pipe. Pre-galvanized steel pipes are widely used in construction, machinery, petrochemical, and other industries.

What are common applications for galvanized pipe?

1.Galvanized pipe for wood stoves

Galvanized pipe for wood stoves: This type of galvanized pipe is typically used in flue systems to direct flue gases from the combustion chamber to the outdoors. It is characterized by high temperature resistance and rust resistance, and is relatively durable.

Wall thickness and diameter: Larger diameters are typically used to allow for the flow of fumes in the fireplace, as well as a moderate wall thickness to ensure adequate strength and durability. A common diameter is 6 inches (about 152 mm) and wall thicknesses are typically between 3.5 mm and 5 mm.

Corrosion resistance: Galvanized pipe needs to have good corrosion resistance due to the high acid content of the smoke in wood stoves. The use of the hot dip galvanizing process results in a thicker galvanized layer, increasing its corrosion resistance.

Load-bearing capacity: Galvanized pipes are mainly subjected to the load of flue gas when used in wood fireplaces, so their load-bearing capacity is generally not particularly high. However, it still needs to meet certain strength and stiffness requirements to ensure its service life.

Connection: Usually threaded connections are used, which can be tightened by the tightness of the threads to ensure a tight and reliable pipe connection. For the parts of the connection that need to be disassembled frequently, quick couplings with threads can also be used.

2. Galvanized pipe for greenhouses

This type of galvanized pipe is typically used in flue systems to direct flue gases from the combustion chamber to the outdoors. It is characterized by high temperature resistance and rust resistance, and is relatively durable. Since some corrosive chemicals may be generated during use, it is necessary to select galvanized pipe that is of reliable quality and meets the relevant standards.

Wall thickness and diameter: Depending on the needs of the greenhouse, galvanized pipe is typically 0.5″ to 4″ in diameter (12.7 mm to 101.6 mm) and wall thicknesses generally range from 1.0 mm to 3.0 mm. The selection of pipe diameter and wall thickness is based on reasonable calculations based on the size, structure and loading conditions of the greenhouse.

Corrosion resistance: Since greenhouses are usually in a high humidity environment and need to be exposed to sunlight and rain and snow for a long time, galvanized pipes need to have good corrosion resistance. The use of hot-dip galvanizing process can make the galvanized layer thicker and increase its corrosion resistance.

Load-bearing capacity: Galvanized pipes in greenhouses are generally used to support the entire frame of the greenhouse and bear the loads brought by the natural environment such as wind, rain and snow. Therefore, its load-bearing capacity is very important. In general, the load-bearing capacity should be reasonably calculated and selected according to the size, structure and use environment of the pipe.

Connection method: Galvanized pipes are often used in greenhouses with threaded or welded connections. The threaded connection is easy to install and maintain, and is often used in small greenhouses; the welded connection is troublesome to install, but the connection is firm and suitable for large greenhouses.

The selection of pipe diameter and wall thickness should be reasonably calculated according to the height of the scaffold, load-bearing capacity and the use of the environment and other factors.

Corrosion resistance: scaffolding needs to have good corrosion resistance to ensure its service life and safety. In general, the use of high-quality hot-dip galvanizing process can make the galvanized layer thicker and increase its corrosion resistance.

Load-bearing capacity: Scaffolding needs to have sufficient load-bearing capacity to ensure the safety of the construction process. The size of the load-bearing capacity is generally calculated and selected according to the height of the scaffold, the distance across the scaffold and the environment in which it is used.

Connection method: The connection method of scaffolding generally adopts threaded connection or fastener connection method. The threaded connection is solid and suitable for small scaffolds; the fastener connection is easy to install and suitable for large scaffolds.

Before buying galvanized pipes, you must pay attention to the distinction between real weight and rational weight.

Rational weight: also known as standard weight or calculated weight, is the weight calculated by mathematical formula based on parameters such as size, material, and wall thickness of the steel pipe. Rational weight is usually the standard weight specified by the steel pipe manufacturer or standard specifications, used to calculate the cost of transporting goods, etc.. Rational weight is usually slightly greater than the actual weight.

Solid weight: It is the actual weight of the steel pipe, i.e. the weight measured by a weighing machine or other measurement method. The real weight is the actual weight of the goods, which is an important basis for calculating the cost of transportation of goods. The actual weight is the weight of the actual cargo, which may be slightly less than the sensible weight.

There are times when you receive a very low quote, first look at whether it is a real weight or a physical weight. The physical weight will be cheaper than the real weight, the real weight is according to the actual weighing settlement, you order 10 tons, we will deliver 10 tons, the physical weight is according to the number of pieces settlement, suppose 10 tons is 1200 pieces, we will finally deliver 1200 pieces. Also, note that there is a tolerance range for the physical weight.

TYTSTEEL How to perform salt spray test on galvanized pipes?

The salt spray test for galvanized pipes is a common anti-corrosion test method, usually used to test the corrosion resistance of galvanized pipes. Our company attaches great importance to anti-alkaline and anti-corrosion issues, so our test tests are also more stringent than similar companies’ implementation standards. We use a brine concentration of 50 grams per liter, a temperature of 45 degrees Celsius, and a water temperature of 37 degrees Celsius for a simulated test of 18 hours.

According to the change of the test sample, its corrosion resistance is evaluated. Unqualified products with rust, corrosion, and flaking on the surface will be downgraded. Eventually when the salt spray test can meet at least 8 hours without corrosion before the next step of production.

How long does it take to receive your order?

1. After receiving the inquiry, we will quote and communicate with you within 8 hours.
2. We will send you samples within 3 days to send PO to us.
3. After receiving PO, we will do PI.
4. After receiving the deposit, we will arrange the production, about 15-20 days.
5. Book the ship and load the goods. The cargo arrival time depends on your distance.
6. Send the original bill of lading after receiving all the balance.
